Clothes Coats and Sweaters for Italian Greyhounds

With italian greyhounds, a.k.a. what I call my “skinny dogs”, I am always on the lookout for clothes that will fit them. Not an easy feat with their deep chest and skinny necks and waists, it can make fitting their bodies a bit more difficult than just picking up a sweater at the local pet store. I know I could sew my own, if I only had a few more hours in my day (oh all the wonderful, fun things I could do with a few more hours to each day!).


So here are a few places I’ve come across and have found interesting items.

Sewdoggie Design – She has hoodies, jammies and collars. Lots of cute stuff!

A & B Originals – Custom made sweaters for italian greyhounds and other sighthounds.

Pixie Dust Creations – Custom made tees and jammies – lots of cute stuff, but hosted on a free site, so lots of pop-ups and ads.

K9 Apparel – Somewhat pricey, but really nice winter coats – not IG specific (selling for great danes, whippets, jack russell terriers, greyhounds and more). Very nice… under coats, heavy coats, rain coats, jackets, boots.

Canine Creations by Nancy – Custom made to your dogs specifications – So much stuff here… coats, jammies, tees, halloween costumes, rainhoods, embroidered collars, belly bands and panties.

DoodleBug Duds – Fleece coats and awesome little dome beds, doodlebuggies (carry your dog in a front pack), toys, panties, belly bands and bandanas.

Sighhound Specialties – collars, soft harness vests, panties and belly bands, coats, jammies, snoods, costumes Or visit their ebay store (it’s a little easier to see what’s available on the ebay store Sighthound Specialties Ebay Store) I have one of their coats – I purchased last year for Enzo. Nicely made and they were super easy to work with.

Spoiled Bratz Petwear – Cute custom made coats, hats (or is that hatz) and other items for your hound.

Barkin Dog Clothes – lots of t-shirts, 4-legged outfits, holiday themed outfits.

Hound Togs – Coats, rain slickers, snug snoods and sleeping bags.

Houndz in the Hood/ – jammies, sweatshirts, bodysuits, raincoats, overcoats and sweaters.

Montana Dogware – Made for greyhounds but available to fit dogs of all sizes.. reflective coats, medium-weight coats and waterproof coats.

Snuggle Sax – I have one of these.. got it last year. It is so incredibly soft! Kari is nice and easy to work with.. will work custom orders for you, just ask. She even has a group on Flickr called snuggle sax for owners of snuggle sax.. take your pics and join the group!

    Just wanted to share … last year, I ordered a coat for Enzo, my boy IG, from Sighthound Specialties Ebay store. Since the weather is getting colder, I’d pulled out the dogs coats the other day.

    This morning, I put Enzo’s coat on.. he actually was excited to see it and expressed his interest in wearing it… usually, he’s not to fond of clothes. But this coat, he loves.

    Later, I took it off, but he was having none of that… he nudged and wiggled and pushed at his coat until I put it right back on. Happy as a bug, snug in a rug… ;)

    I may have to order him another one just so he’ll have a switch.

    It’s a well made coat, fits him perfectly and is cute too.
